HERA’s Mission

The Mission of the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation is to stop the loss of women from ovarian cancer by promoting Health, Empowerment, Research, and Awareness.

HERA’s Vision

As a nationally recognized non-profit ovarian cancer organization, HERA provides funding for cutting-edge research grants to scientists at respected medical institutions. In so doing, HERA will attract more young researchers and expand the scientific understanding of ovarian cancer while improving the lives of those battling this disease. The projects funded focus on mechanisms of ovarian cancer development, growth and treatment.
HERA also embraces projects related to ovarian cancer awareness and the promotion of symptoms in different communities around the country. HERA will empower women through educational activities which raise awareness of symptoms and treatment options. By stressing the concept of “community”, HERA will support and empower those undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer as well as women who are healthy.
In short, the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation seeks to touch the lives of all those affected by ovarian cancer.

How can you help?
Glad you asked!  RTM is asking for donations to help reach our fundraising goal of $1260.  We have set up an EASY paypal site (or if you prefer you can mail a check to Val).  We are looking forward to partnering with HERA to raise funds and bring awareness to ovarian cancer and will be proudly running on their behalf and in memory/honor of anyone that has been touched by cancer (directly or indirectly).  Please let us know if you would like to have someones name (or family name) add to our list and we will be adding them to our shirts as we run.
